These impurities - a mixture of propylene glycol, styrene and organic acids - are always the cause of blistering and thus of hull damage. This procedure ensures thorough treatment of the GRP laminate without heat damage, thus avoiding the risk of hull deformation.
It can even restore the structural strength of the hull. Flexible HotVac blankets wrap around the hull, thus forming an airtight seal; these can be applied to any hull shape. Uniform temperature control within /- 1°C is achieved by applying high-performance electronics. In addition, the HotVac process is environmentally friendly: no atomizers, no polluting chemicals and extremely quiet operation. It usually requires no more than a four-hour treatment for an affected surface.
