This thin, lightweight protective adhesive material is equipped with a tough polymer coating that prevents grease, dirt, solvents and liquids from penetrating and damaging underlying surfaces. Unlike plastic film or paper, its non-woven surface, designed by 3M to retain dirt, dust, debris and fumes, also prevents smaller particles from spreading into the environment, where they settle on surfaces, causing damage and increasing rework. This material is also resistant to light impacts and abrasions, making it suitable for environments where nuts, bolts and small tools are likely to fall or where metal shavings are present. It is repositionable: if an area under the fabric needs to be accessed after application, it can be removed and then repositioned. The fabric can remain positioned for a period of 1 to 4 weeks. Technicians can apply the fabric manually or using one of our applicators for large surfaces. The applicators are equipped with foam rollers that flatten the material as it is applied. When the fabric needs to be replaced, simply remove it and apply a new layer.
